Ricky Lyle McBride, age 65, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, May 13, 2018.  Ricky was born on Saturday, April 4, 1953, the son of Lyle Myron and Virginia Jean (Phelps) McBride.  On July 4, 1997 at Black Creek Conservation Club, Ricky married Rebecca Ann Carey.

          Ricky was a heavy equipment operator working for several different companies, the last being Foster Excavating.  He had a total of thirty years before his health forced him to retire.  He was a member of the Black Creek Conservation Club.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his dogs.  He was a huge NASCAR fan.

          Survivors include his wife Becky, two sons:  Shawn and Danielle McBride of Mt. Pleasant, Nathan McBride of Jacksboro, TN, his daughter Stacy and Aaron Jones of Windsor, Ontario.  Also two step daughters:  Stacey Carey and her finance Darin Comstock of Mt. Pleasant and Jamie and Brad VonHoff of Aurora, IL.  Seven grandchildren and one great grandson.  A brother Scott McBride of Mt. Pleasant and two sisters:  Kimberly and Mike Allison of Mt. Pleasant and Annette and John Green of Oil City.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert and both parents.

          Burial of the cremated remains will take place in Chippewa Township Cemetery at 12 noon on Saturday, July 28, 2018 with Pastor Gene Haymaker of the Maranatha Baptist Church officiating.  Immediately following the interment service, a gathering will be held at the family’s home located at 3451 S. Chippewa Road, Mt. Pleasant.  Contributions in Ricky’s name may be made to Community Cancer Services.  Envelopes are available at Rowley Funeral Home.
